A LITTLE ABOUT OUR PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE IN AQUACULTURE
Founded in 2004 by Technical Director Mark Wilson, World Feeds is a Yorkshire based company, built on the simple premise of improving the way fish are fed. Mark’s history in ornamental aquaculture, including conservation and breeding programmes, steered him into forming the world’s first commercial clownfish hatchery. His research led to a discovery that deeply concerned him - the food on the market at the time simply did not fulfil the nutritional requirements of the ever-growing diverse range of fish. Species now available from different regions around the globe each have an equally diverse range of dietary needs. These were certainly not being met with the catch-all approach of products available in the market at that time. Change was necessary.
Coming together with Managing Director Peter Kersh in 2005, they formed a team of fish experts, scientists and engineers to bring their vision of creating the best fish food in the world to fruition. Today, our aquatic nutrition products have a global presence - all formulated, manufactured, packaged and distributed from one location in Thorne, just outside Doncaster, UK.

Our specialist aquatic feeds are used by leading public aquariums worldwide. Some of the largest exhibits around the globe have been reaping the many nutritional and practical benefits of our feeds for years.
SEA SENTOSA in Singapore features a 45 Million litre tank, home to over 100,000 marine animals of 1,000 different species, each of which is catered for with a variety of our tailored diets. As is the 11 Million litre multi-species exhibit at DUBAI AQUARIUM & UNDERWATER ZOO. We are extremely proud to count them among our many international aquarium clients.
Our technical and scientific expertise has also been embraced as part of our collaborative relationship with aquariums. We work to find and develop feeding solutions, from specially designed feeds for more challenging species such as sharks to grazing blocks in a similar vein to our aquaculture feed blocks.
VITA AQUA FEEDS products are part of our Aquaculture Feeding System. Using combined decades of scientific experience, nutritional know-how and engineering expertise, we have been able to create aquaculture foods like no other on the market. In addition, we are able to present them as part of innovative and unique feeding systems in order to provide the best possible service and results for international aquaculture operations and hatcheries.
Our feeds are tailored for different cleaner fish species. We use the highest quality ingredients, obtained from sustainable sources. Among our key dietary components are whole fish meal, blends of algae and human food grade squid, shrimp and mussel to name a few. We use bespoke machinery, designed by us, and employ cold-extrusion techniques to create stable, malleable and highly digestible feeds. This method of production ensures that the nutritional value of the ingredients is retained within the feed. Our products promote natural feeding habits and having a much greater positive effect on the fishes' digestive system, not to mention multiple other health, welfare and practical benefits.
