NUTRITION
The VAF Lumpfish Feed Block contains a complete diet to cover all the nutritional needs of lumpfish species.
The high quality protein and nutritional content in the sustainable raw materials is preserved by our unique extrusion process without using heat. Unlike cooker extrusion, the temperature remains low during the production process, preserving the vitamin and mineral profile along with the marine-based proteins.
As a result, you have an ideal feeding method allowing the fish to graze throughout the day on tailored nutrition. The grooved block is produced using machinery of our own design and encourages lice grazing behaviour in lumpfish and maintains integrity in water for up to 24hrs, allowing the bigger more aggressive fish to satiate. This in turn gives the smaller fish a chance to get enough food afterwards.
PRACTICALITY
Compared to gel diets that require mixing and freezing, as well a very short shelf life, the VAF Lumpfish Feed Block requires no mixing and can be stored in a cool, dry place with a shelf life of up to 2 years.
No refrigeration required. Reducing energy costs and storage space.
There is no need for time consuming mixing as it is ready to feed straight out of the pack.
The block is easily cut to size should the full block not be required in a single use.
Our feeds are packaged in buckets that can be re-used on site or recycled.
